Laser Dentistry

Can effective dentistry be performed without drills or needles? For many dental procedures, the answer is a definite YES! The Waterlase® MD dental laser is the most advanced laser system available, and we are proud to offer it at our cosmetic and laser dentistry practice in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Waterlase® MD laser uses water droplets that have been energized by a laser to gently remove decayed tooth structure or unhealthy tissue. No more whining noise from the drill - the laser only makes a soft clicking sound. Since the laser uses water droplets combined with laser energy, there is no heat or vibration. The Waterlase® MD dental laser is completely safe and has been approved for many common dental procedures, including those involving soft tissue (like reshaping the gums) and hard tissue (procedures involving the teeth or jawbone).

Laser dentistry eliminates pain and, often, the need for anesthesia. Laser dentistry is especially well suited to the preparation of teeth for fillings or porcelain crowns, root canals, and more, as the laser easily removes decayed tooth structure while conserving as much of the healthy tooth as possible.

Advances in laser dentistry allow our dentists to reduce anxiety and discomfort for patients while providing precise, minimally invasive treatment.  With the help of laser dentistry, acute pain and anxiety during dental procedures becomes a thing of the past. CEREC® Restorations

In the past, placing porcelain crowns, porcelain dental veneers, and fillings took two visits: one where impressions were taken and a temporary restoration was attached, and another a few weeks later, when the permanent restoration was placed. Thanks to CEREC®, however, durable all-ceramic restorations can be custom-crafted in just one visit!

CEREC® is a computer-guided system that creates crowns and other restorations right here in our office. These restorations are made of the highest-quality materials which strengthen teeth while providing a superior cosmetic result for years to come.

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-rays are one key ingredient of a kinder, gentler dental experience. First, unlike traditional X-rays which require you to grip film between your teeth, digital images are captured using a small probe easily circulated inside your mouth. Images are instantly captured and displayed on a computer screen, where they can be enlarged and easily viewed by dentist and patient alike. In addition, digital X-rays expose the patient to much less radiation than traditional X-rays while making the X-ray experience much more comfortable and effective.

Digital Smile Analysis

The cosmetic dentistry techniques offered at our North Carolina practice have the potential to completely transform your smile. However, the often dramatic power of dental implants, veneers, teeth whitening, and crowns is sometimes hard to imagine. "How will I look after my smile makeover?" many patients wonder. Now they can get the answer before they start treatment.

Digital smile analysis lets our dentists manipulate a picture of you and see how dental implants, dental veneers, crowns, or other cosmetic or restorative dentistry treatments will improve your appearance. This is particularly useful for those undergoing a whole-mouth smile makeover using sedation dentistry and a variety of cosmetic dentistry techniques.
