Not all of us were born with a set of pearly whites to make the neighbors cry with envy, but now with contemporary cosmetic dentistry procedures, virtually anyone can dazzle the entire neighborhood when they smile.  In fact, one of the best ways to get a smile makeover and completely transform your mouth is to get porcelain veneers.

But my friend got teeth veneers and you can see black lines!

You may have noticed that some recipients of porcelain veneers develop black discoloration high on the tooth where it meets the gum line.  Maybe you have this problem right now yourself and you just simply do not like the idea of porcelain veneers anymore.  Well, the truth is that in the past, teeth veneers were built around a metal frame.  Over time, this often shows a discoloring effect at the gum line.  But today, porcelain veneers are different and do not utilize metal frames.  This modern advancement means that discoloration does not happen anymore.  Even the people who have old dental veneers can have them replaced with new ones to remove the discoloration.  In fact, one Charlotte NC cosmetic dentistry office, the Ballantyne Center for Dentistry, utilizes all porcelain veneers and they can replace your old ones.

Only the best at Ballantyne Center for Dentistry in Charlotte NC

Porcelain veneers come in a variety of qualities.  Some are cheaper than others and often the more expensive ones offer superior attributes.  For that reason, it is always best to ask your cosmetic dentist if he or she uses the highest class veneers available.  Indeed, the dentists at Ballantyne Center for Dentistry are experts in field of cosmetic dentistry and for that reason they know that when it comes to your mouth it is better to provide the best services and products available rather than rely on something that could be an inferior product.  For that reason, they only use the highest quality dental veneers available.

What can a dental veneer smile makeover do for me?

Dental veneers are an excellent way to immediately correct broken, discolored, or crooked teeth.  They can also correct gaps in your teeth.  Also, because dental veneers are thin porcelain coverings that go over the top of your original teeth, they actually surround your teeth with a protective layer.  This not only strengthens your original teeth but it also gives them a dazzling luster.  Porcelain veneers have a certain level of translucence that allows light to pass through them.  The light is then reflected back off the inner white opacity of your underlying tooth.  This process mimics the way natural teeth reflect light through the translucency your enamel.  In this way, porcelain veneers are dazzlingly surreal because they look so beautiful and so natural at the same time.

Sedation dentistry for those who do not want to be afraid

Charlotte NC residents who get their teeth veneers from Ballantyne Center for Dentistry

can also benefit from getting the procedure done without stress and anxiety.  Ballantyne Center for Dentistry practices sedation dentistry, so their patients can get the beautiful teeth they desire without the stress or fear of pain that is normally involved with going to the dentist.  Indeed, a sedation dentist will simply give you a pill to take away the anxiety and worry relating to the experience.  In some cases, patients do not even remember anything from the procedure.

Dental implants are an excellent denture alternative, not just for people who have one or two missing teeth, but also for people who have used false teeth for years and simply need new dentures.  The replacement teeth offered through implant dentistry are permanently anchored to the jawbone, just like your natural teeth.

Not only do implants function and look like normal teeth, they also feel similar to your real teeth.  Furthermore, they do not affect your speech like dentures do.  Because your implants are permanent and not removable, you will no longer need to fear that your dentures will float around inside your mouth while you’re trying to have a conversation with friends. Implant dentistry techniques will also be beautiful, and probably more aesthetically pleasing than your original teeth.

How do dental implants work?

The process of getting your dental implants is a quick and minor dental surgery that your implant dentists can perform in their office.  Your Ballantyne implant dentist will insert a titanium anchor into your jawbone.  Over time, the jawbone will grow to accommodate the titanium implant, fusing around the bone.  When your bone and the titanium anchor have fused, your implant dentist will place the replacement tooth on the anchor.

Can everybody get a dental implant?

Implant dentistry is not for everyone.  Some people, who have already had dentures for years and have grown accustomed to their dentures, may not be interested in the costs associated with denture alternatives.  In rarer cases, the jawbone may not be sufficiently dense to accept the implant and therefore further bone grafting procedures may be necessary before the procedure can be performed.  Fortunately, however, most patients are excellent candidates for dental implants, and dental implant procedures are known to have a 95% success rate.

With sedation dentistry, going to the dentist for dental implants is a relaxing experience

Would you like to have a denture alternative, but you are afraid of going through with the implant procedure?  Probably the number one reason why patients opt out of getting a dental implant is simply the fact that they are afraid of the dentist or the procedure.  For this reason, cosmetic dentists and implant dentists are typically trained in the art of sedation dentistry, which takes the stress and pain out of going to the dentist.  In fact, the implant dentists at Ballantyne Center for Dentistry perform implant procedures with modern sedation dentistry techniques, which make the procedure both painless and stress free.  Patients can even take a mild sedative pill at home to remove any anxiety they have before even leaving for the dentist.

At Ballantyne Center for Dentistry located in Charlotte, Dr. Christian Yaste and Dr. Joe Hufanda have combined experience of more than two and a half decades dealing with the most modern and up-to-date implant dentistry procedures and cosmetic dentistry techniques.  In addition to being cosmetic dentists, they are also expert sedation dentists, so you can leave your worries at the door when you go to see the professionals at Ballantyne Center for Dentistry

If you have chipped, cracked or weak teeth reigning your mouth kingdom, then crown them with the dental crowns they deserve in Charlotte.  At Ballantyne Center for Dentistry, the spa environment will help you feel at ease, relaxed, and have your cosmetic dentist experience feel like royalty.

What are dental crowns?

Dental crowns are tooth-shaped dental caps that restore the shape, size and or strength of your teeth, giving your smile an overall improved appearance.  There are many reasons people may choose to get dental crowns.  They can provide protection for weaker teeth from breaking due to decay as well as protect already decaying teeth from more decay.   These tooth-shaped dental caps can also restore and reshape your chipped or cracked teeth and even hold dental bridges.  Dental crowns can cover ugly metal fillings, discolored teeth, and dental implants.  Teeth crowns are yet another way to enhance the beautiful smile you have always dreamed of.

Different types of dental crowns

Dental crowns fall into two categories depending on what they are composed of-temporary or permanent.  Temporary dental caps can usually be made in your dentist’s office until your permanent cap is constructed in the dental laboratory.  Temporary teeth crowns are made from acrylic or stainless steel while permanent dental crowns are made from all metal, porcelain-fused-to metal, all resin or all ceramic.

Metal crowns use alloy metals and less of your tooth needs to be restored, but the downside to these are the ugly metallic color.  Porcelain-fused-to meal dental caps can be colored to match your teeth, but after sometime the dark metal lines may eventually show.  All resin dental crowns are less expensive, but are not as durable or aesthetic as all porcelain dental crowns.  All porcelain teeth crowns are a more popular choice because they are natural-looking and metal free, providing strength along with beauty!

At Ballantyne Center for Dentistry in Charlotte, the professional staff can provide you with an all porcelain permanent dental crown because of their highly specialized CEREC® system used to create natural looking crowns right in their office.  This will save you time and money because there are fewer trips to the dentist office and you have more time to show off that royal smile.

When you are ready to give your teeth a royal crowning, then call the friendly staff at Ballantyne Center for Dentistry in Charlotte today.  Dr. Christian Yaste and Dr. Joe Hufanda will give you a free smile consultation and provide you with the dental crowns your royal smile deserves.

Blood  Clots/Stroke - They Now Have a Fourth Indicator,  the Tongue

STROKE: Remember  the 1st Three Letters.... S.. T. R.

  STROKE  IDENTIFICATION:

During a BBQ, a woman stumbled and took a little fall - she assured  everyone that she was fine (they offered to call  paramedics) ..she said she had just tripped over  a brick because of her new shoes.

They  got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of  food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Jane went about enjoying herself the rest of the  evening

Jane's husband called later  telling everyone that his wife had been taken to  the hospital -
(at 6:00  pm  Jane passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the  signs of a stroke, perhaps Jane would be with  us today. Some don't die. They end up in a  helpless, hopeless condition instead.

It  only takes a minute to read this...

A  neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke  victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the  effects of a stroke...totally. He said  the trick was getting a stroke recognized,  diagnosed, and then getting the patient  medically cared for within 3 hours, which is  tough...

  RECOGNIZING A STROKE

Thank  God for the sense to remember the '3' steps, STR  . Read and Learn!

Sometimes symptoms of a  stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately,  the lack of awareness spells disaster. The  stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage  when people nearby fail to recognize the  symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a  bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three  simple questions:

S  *Ask  the individual to SMILE.

T  *Ask  the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE  (Coherently)

(i.e. It is sunny out  today.)

R  *Ask  him or her to RAISE BOTH  ARMS.

If  he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these  tasks, call emergency number immediately  and describe the symptoms to the  dispatcher.

New  Sign of a Stroke -------- Stick out Your  Tongue

NOTE:  Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the  person to 'stick' out his tongue.. If the tongue  is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the  other,   that is  also an indication

of a  stroke.
